Long exposure pinhole photography, diptychs
I sometimes arrange my pinhole photographs as diptychs, influenced in part by comics theorist Scott McCloud’s consideration of how aspect-to-aspect transitions in comics (particularly manga) convey a sense of timelessness and ask the reader to construct a scene or idea from fragments. The effect can be disorienting while also providing an opening for contemplation, a quality that I think works well with long exposure, a medium that is already rife with missing information—another opening for you, the viewer, to bring your story.
